Data Protection Officer Conference, March 2011

The ICO held their annual Data Protection Officer conference on Tuesday 8 March 2011 in Manchester. Lord McNally, Justice Minister gave the keynote speech and there were also speakers from the European Commission and The Cabinet Office.  Nine workshops were held in the afternoon covering a range of topics from data protection audits to the new ePrivacy regulations.

The event was oversubscribed with nearly 750 individuals registering their interest for a limited number of places. The day itself was attended by 500 Data Protection Officers working in the public, private and third sector.
