What we can't do
The ICO:
cannot award compensation for any breach of the Data Protection Act or the Freedom of Information Act;
cannot require anyone to release personal data to you unless you have made a valid subject access request which has not been complied with;
does not hold all your personal data;
cannot prevent an individual from processing personal data for purely domestic purposes; andÂ
cannot assist you to obtain access to any non-personal information unless you have made a valid request under the Freedom of Information Act or the Environmental Information Regulations to a public authority which has not been complied with.
