Purpose of the committees


Management Board

Management Board provides high level oversight and support for the Information Commissioner and the ICO. It develops longer term strategy, monitors progress against strategy and provides assurance to the Commissioner that the ICO is properly managed.

Executive Team

Executive Team provides day to day leadership and management of the ICO and has overall responsibility for developing and delivering against the ICO’s corporate and business plans.

Audit Committee

In support of the Information Commissioner and his Board, the Audit Committee provides scrutiny, oversight and assurance in respect of risk control and government procedures.

Remuneration Committee

The Remuneration Committee advises the Commissioner and his Board on the ICO’s remuneration policies and practices for all staff.

Information Rights Committee

The Information Rights Committee determines the ICO’s information rights risks and priorities and oversees implementation of the Information Rights Strategy.

Health and Safety Committee

The Health and Safety Committee assists the Commissioner and his Executive Team in the discharge of health and safety responsibilities.

Equality and Diversity Committee

The Equality and Diversity Committee develops and implements appropriate strategies and action plans to ensure that the ICO fulfils its statutory obligations in respect of equality and diversity.

Project Boards

Where projects are formally set up these will report via the relevant Executive Team member to Executive Team as appropriate.
